If you are familiar with the age old hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” then you will know the words “morning by morning new mercies I see.” Every morning, whether I wake up with joy for the day or utterly lacking the strength I need, this truth remains. When I painted this I kept coming back to the joyful feeling I get when I can bring myself to look outside at the sunrise and be suddenly filled with a renewed strength to face the day. I will declare His mercy in the morning and His faithfulness in the evening. Those who are His can continually rest in this.
