Tabletop mountain is more than just a moment of beauty outside of Denver. It is quite the climb. My youngest was on my back in a hiking backpack. Every step was steep and I could barely get words out to answer the myriad of questions my older two children were asking on the way up. When we finally made it to the top and I saw the long way we had climbed. I was in awe. I did not see the beauty in the moments of intense focus on the next step. I saw it when I stopped and looked and considered.
